I don’t know how much it’s caused by the neck-through design or the used materials but it works very well. I can confirm that it stays in tune even for several weeks among the same environmental circumstances (humidity, temperature) if you use it every day – just like I did. It’s made of Jatoba wood which is much harder than rosewood so in theory it’d last much longer too and won’t be that affective to scratches which is a big plus. Another thing to mention about the neck is its fretboard. It’s a finely polished 5-piece satin neck so you can play fast, it won’t be tacky easily. The guitar itself is really solid and easy to play thanks to the fantastic Wizard III neck. I’ve been looking for a neck-through RG with fixed bridge around 400 EUR for quite some time and finally it arrived! I like it and not going to get rid of it. Maybe I’ll swap pickups in the future (and tuners too).Īll in all, the guitar is very decent, especially for the price. Also, I am not very happy with clean sound (even in coil-split mode), for me, it lacks harmonics. I also tried drop B, but the guitar sounded muddy (probably, it was too low for stock pickups). I use this guitar mostly in drop C#/C tunings with distortion, and it sounds fine. The guitar is getting the relic look pretty fast. I already have a few chips in the finish over the instrument, mostly on the edges (I treated it very carefully, didn’t gig with it, used only at home). The "weathered" finish is very thin and fragile.

But if you need to tune the guitar up, sometimes it is difficult to get the note quickly, and the tuner should be turned back and forth several times. The Jackson Pro Series Dinky DK2 Ash is also now offered in a Baked White finish with a color matched pointed 6-in-line headstock and black hardware. So, if you ever wanted to get that kind of guitar (like me), this Ibanez is a good option. Of course, it should be mentioned, that this is a very affordable neck-through guitar. The Wizard III neck is very comfortable to play (even though I am not a fan of thin necks).

It is light and balanced (no neck dive or something like this). This is a well-made instrument, I didn’t find any flaws when I took it out of the box.

The Okoume body’s light weight makes it a pleasure to play for hours on end, and the guitar remains perfectly balanced when playing in a standing position.”Ĭheck out the full review by CLICKING HERE.I bought this guitar about a year ago. “This is a speed guitar with an extremely fast-playing slim neck profile, and the neck heel might be the most ‘invisible’ example I’ve ever encountered from a bolt-on instrument. “The Pro Series DK2’s playability is everything guitarists have come to know and love about Jackson guitars,” noted Gill. In addition to the build quality of the Dinky, Gill was equally impressed by the performance of the Jackson guitar. The wood, combined with Seymour Duncan humbuckers and versatile wiring, gives the Jackson Pro Series Dinky DK2 a distinctive, attractive voice that really stands out in a crowd.”

“But guitar builders have discovered it has tonal properties similar to maple with much less weight, plus an attractive grain and color similar to mahogany. “Traditionally Okoume is layered into plywood used to build boats because it’s light, flexible and rot-resistant,” he wrote. With the preconceived notion that the Dinky would be the same as any variety of double humbucking guitars he’s reviewed in the past, Gill was taken aback by the wide breadth of features found in the Pro Series DK2. Chris Gill from Guitar World magazine recently reviewed our Jackson Pro Series Dinky DK2 Okoume and was pleasantly surprised by what he found.
